Music should be a fun, positive experience, which is what we strive for at DFW Piano Lessons. Every lesson is designed to motivate and help students reach their goals by building a strong musical foundation in theory, technique, sight reading, composing and performance. Our studio implements a course of study that is tailored to each student's needs, interests, and learning styles. For younger children, we use games, motivational ideas, and reinforce concepts to keep students interested and making significant progress.

Musical training at at DFW Piano Lessons is laid back and most importantly encouraging, but balanced with structure and organization so each lesson is always highly productive. We use objective driven lesson plans, which means progress is easy to achieve as all lessons are designed to meet each student's learning style and personal goals. Each month, we provide reports of what the student has learned, areas of strengths, and things to focus on during practice time. Using this design, students are able to quickly excel in music and notice progress immediately.

Theory & Technique: It's essential to have a strong foundation in theory and technique, so we thoroughly integrate these elements into each lesson.  

Sight Reading & Ear Training: Music is like learning a language, and sight reading and ear training help a student both visually and and audibly interpret music on all levels. 

Artistry: We believe piano is an expression and a language, not just something an instrument play. We teach students to create music by finding the meaning of the song and then to use their skill set to communicate that meaning using their skills in theory and technique.

Performance: for students who wish to branch out, performance pieces are included in lessons, which covers stage presence, definitive memorization, and competitive playing.

Songwriting & Composing: As students progress with their musical skills, improv and composing is integrated in their lessons. 

Genres: We teach all genres of music, specializing in classical, contemporary and jazz music. Most importantly, we help students discover their own style and unique way of playing music.
